STR: execute the "Surround with Try/Catch" Surround Live Template, you'll have a hotspot somewhere on Exception ex. Without typing to cancelling the hotspot, extend selection to include the whole catch block with its body, and paste smth over it (eg an empty catch block). The LiveTemplate hotspot is killed by the paste, the LiveTemplate is canceled, and Undo/Redo is unavailable for the document ever since.
