IDEA-42979

VSS: if in the VCS mapping dialog Directory has default <Project Root> value, all writable files appear hijacked

0
  • create new idea project in the directory that is under vss and contains some checked in files, some checked out ones and some unversioned ones.
  • adjust the vcs settings for the project - vss project, path to ss.exe, to database, login info. Leave 'directory' field of vcs mapping as is, since you need to map project content root to vss project, and <Project Root> value seems to be ok.
----> as a result all files that are writeable (i.e. unversioned and checked out ones) appear in light-brown color in Changes view, and it is impossible to work with the project.
If you change the value of Directory, specifying the project directory there, statuses are correctly recognized

the issue still happens. If the default Directory field in the DirectoryVCSettings is left as is (<Project Root>), and in the EditVSSDirectoryMapping dialog for this root the Directory field is no edited also (it is shown empty), the problem occurs.

If you specify the project directory location via browser in any of these fields, everything is ok.
