• create project with few modules located in nested folders under project directory. Each module src root is some git repository, but the project directory itself (and even its direct subfolders) is not versioned.
  
• leave the defaullt vcs mapping == project_dir for thsi project.

As a result all actions work, teh correct git root is detected for them. But the Fetch action fails:
Fetch Error:
fatal: Not a git repository
