IDEA-43376 Problem stopping Tomcat 6 during initialization
1
Issue is visible to: All Users
The issue is visible to the selected user group only
Support feedback:

pressing start arrow button in run window and then pressing stop button during tomcat startup causes tomcat to start but the stop and start buttons are now both grayed out. stopping tomcat now requires idea restart.

You don't need to restart IDEA. Just kill the Tomcat process. After that, you can restart the Tomcat out of IDEA.

As a workaround you could use debug instead of run. Debugging Tomcat always allows you to kill Tomcat by pressing the stop button. But I would like to have this issue fixed, as well.
