IDEA-12765 Add "Expand All Below" option to node context menu for all tree views.

It would be really useful if a tree node and all its children could be expanded in one action by right clicking on the node and selecting (a new) "Expand All Below" option. At present you have to click on the node and all its children (and their children...) in turn to expand them all, or you can click the "Expand All" button - but then you have to collapse all unwanted nodes.

I notice the lack of this in two main areas:
- when wanting to browse all the TODOs in a particular package and all its subpackages
- when wanting to see all files under a particular VCS changelist
... however, I am sure this would be very useful under all tree views.

The converse "Collapse All Below" option would probable be useful (and logical) also.

Environment: XP

The "Fully Expand Tree Node" action does this. By default it is mapped to keyboard shortcut Numpad+*. To collapse you can use Numpad+- or Cursor left.

Ahaa, I didn't know there was an additional command for just expanding the selected node (the buttons on the tree views just expand/collapse the entire tree). It might be a good idea to add buttons for the node versions to the tree views, it would also be very useul (for me) to have shortcuts from the right-click menu. But if nobody else would want this then fair enough.

Many Thanks
James

The context menus are cluttered enough without adding one more item. The asterisk key is indeed the standard way to perform this action.
